About US

Created and run by a team of volunteers, Freedom for Humanity uses events to raise much-needed funding for organisations working to end human trafficking, rescue its victims and support the healing of its survivors.

In 2016, we hosted a successful Gala Ball to support the work of Anti-Slavery Australia.

In 2017, we are focused on supporting The A21 Campaign, a not-for-profit non-government organisation working to fight human trafficking, including sexual exploitation and forced labour.

What is human trafficking

HUMAN TRAFFICKING IS MODERN-DAY SLAVERY

It is the action or practice of illegally transporting people from one country or areas to another, for the purpose of forced labour or commercial sexual exploitation.

When you hear the term “human trafficking” you probably think it is something that happens far away and not to people like you.

You are mistaken.

Australia is a major destination for the traffic of sexual slaves. Every year thousands of young women are lured here from overseas under false pretences.

They are imprisoned in brothels, beaten, psychologically tormented and live in constant fear. Ravenous sexual predators tread on her humanity and dignity, to feed their depraved appetites.

These young women are trapped and unable to access the outside world to ask for help. They are women like Nicole, who was a slave for seven years before risking her life to escape.

The unwilling fuel for a A$150 billion dollar industry, millions of slaves are being traded around the world. Only 1% of them is rescued. We are about changing that.

Our mission is twofold:

  • Help end the industries of human trafficking in Australia and around the world.
  • Help the healing and reintegration of survivors of human trafficking, slavery and forced marriage.

Supporting us is one way you can tangibly impact this crisis and help lift someone out of their nightmare.
